Pop Art: An art movement that emerged in the mid 1950s that challenged the traditions of fine art by including imagery from popular culture such as advertising.

Dadaism: European Artistic and literary movement that flouted conventional aesthetic and cultural values by producing works marked by nonsense, travesty, and incongruity

Photomontage: The process and the result of making a composite photograph by cutting and joining two or more photographs into an illusion.

Constructivism: an artistic and architectural philosophy that originated in Russia and rejected the idea of autonomous art

Weekly Vocabulary 1/13

Collage: A technique of an art production, primarily used in visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblege of different forms, thus creating a new whole

Sepia toning: a method of changing the color of black and white photographs to a brown pigment layer

Selenium toning: Similar to sepia toning, except with a reddish color

Duotone: A halftone reproduction of an image using the superimposition of one contrasting color halftone over another color halftone.
